Peep self service booking

Peep was a photography company that was going through a pivot. Their goal was to provide an on-demand service for photographers, similar to the Uber approach for cab drivers. Below you can see my process when creating their self-service booking flow.

Problem

Peep was a photography company that was going through a pivot. Their goal was to provide an on-demand service for photographers, similar to the Uber approach for cab drivers.

Their existing workflow was highly compromised and consisted of a lot of manual work when it came to booking events, resulting in wasted time when it came to finding photographers for the booked events.

Breaking down required information needed from the end user

Nine pieces of information were required from a user for them to book a photographer. I grouped the nine required elements into three guided steps: Describing the event details, Providing the event location, and Payment.

Wireframing and designing at the same time

I tried to achieve accurate feature placement in the wireframing phase so that when I got to apply UI, it was as easy as adding a coat of paint that matched my style guide.

Providing help with visual aids

My solution focused on using centered containers with cleanly lined icons to cut down visual complexity. I offered support with visual aids triggered by rollovers for each step.

Helping users keep track of their progress

I designed a sticky header that would reflect what step the user was on as well as show context information as to what information was entered in the previous step.

Keeping things responsive & mobile friendly

I made sure this process could be completed on all fronts. Providing responsive mobile versions of the booking process so that users could book events on the go.

Saving Peep employees time

The creation of this Self-service booking process resulted in saved time for Peep employees. All previous bookings where done manually via phone calls or email. Now employees had more time to find photographers for booked events.
